Aruj Sahai Shines at the Faridabad District Chess Championship

Aruj Sahai, a Grade 3 Sariska student at Shiv Nadar School, Faridabad, continues to demonstrate remarkable consistency, focus, and competitive maturity across multiple prestigious chess tournaments this year. His disciplined approach and strategic clarity have firmly placed him among the most promising young chess talents in the Delhi–NCR circuit.

Faridabad District Chess Championship – AFCA

Aruj participated across two age categories and delivered strong performances against highly competitive fields:

• Under-11 Category | 5 April 2025
  Competing in a higher age group, Aruj scored 4 wins out of 6 games, securing 5th position among 37 participants and earning a medal.
• Under-9 Category | 6 April 2025
  With an impressive 4.5/6 score, he finished 4th out of 47 players, winning another medal.

The awards were presented by Cabinet Minister Mr. Vipul Goyal.

• The Gambits Cup, Delhi | 30 November 2025
  Aruj delivered a flawless performance in the U8 Rapid category, winning all 6 rounds to emerge as the U8 Champion.
• Late Shri R. N. Sood Memorial Inter-School Chess, Faridabad | 1 November 2025
  Competing in the U9 category, he secured 3rd position with a strong 4/5 score among 33 participants.
• SRCA Halloween Special U8 Rapid | 26 October 2025
  Aruj finished 4th, scoring 4/5 in a field of 28 players.
• GSA Chess Festival U10 Rapid | 12 October 2025
  Playing again in a higher age category, he secured 4th position with 3 wins out of 4 games.
• C. S. Sharma Memorial U9 Chess | 5 October 2025
  In one of the region’s reputed tournaments, Aruj earned 2nd place in the U9 category, scoring 4/5 against 30+ participants.
• SNS Wildcats Cup | 12 September 2025
  He achieved 2nd position in the higher U10 category, competing against participants from all three Shiv Nadar School campuses.

State- and National-Level Pathway

• SGFI State Championship | 8 November 2025
  Representing Faridabad district, Aruj’s team secured 2nd position in the Haryana State SGFI Championship.
• SGFI District Championship (State Selection) | 21 August 2025
  Competing in the U11 category, Aruj scored 5/6, finishing among the Top 5 out of 65+ players, and qualified for the Haryana State SGFI Championship.
• CBSE North Zone II Games | 13–15 August 2025, Charkhi Dadri (Haryana)
  Selected for the U11 SNS Faridabad chess team, Aruj delivered an outstanding performance with 5 wins and 1 draw (5.5/6). His contribution played a key role as the team finished 5th out of 24 schools across North Zone II.
