Bioblitz in the SNS Forest: Families Discover Nature Together
Where curiosity, learning and family connections meet
On Saturday, 12th September, Shiv Nadar School Faridabad hosted an exciting Bioblitz in our very own SNS Forest. A Bioblitz is a focused effort to find and record as many living species as possible in a particular area, and this one became a wonderful shared adventure for our school community.
The SNS Forest holds a special place in our campus story. Once a toxic waste and construction dump yard, the land has been carefully restored into a thriving green sanctuary of around 8,000 native trees, with students, teachers and parents all playing a part in bringing it to life. Today, it serves as a living classroom where our learners can observe ecosystems, life cycles and biodiversity first-hand.
The Bioblitz saw the enthusiastic participation of parents, who joined their children in exploring the wonders of this space. Together, families observed, identified and recorded a variety of plants, insects and other elements of the natural world.
The forest came alive with curious eyes and eager hands as parents and children worked side by side, discovering the richness of biodiversity that has returned to this once-barren land. Parents appreciated the opportunity to experience nature through the curious lens of their children, while students took pride in sharing their knowledge and observations.
It was truly a morning well spent, where exploration, learning and family connections came together in the heart of nature. At Shiv Nadar School Faridabad, we deeply value these moments of partnership, where parents and children learn alongside one another and our school community grows closer.
