A Tribute to the Heroes of Kargil

The Primary Years students of Shiv Nadar School, Faridabad commemorated Kargil Vijay Diwas through a special assembly dedicated to honouring the courage, resilience and sacrifice of India’s armed forces.

Through speeches, songs and dance performances, students revisited the story of the Kargil War and reflected on the extraordinary determination of the soldiers and pilots who served the nation, as well as the contributions of civilians who supported them during this significant chapter in India’s history. They shared stories of inspiring heroes, bringing alive their acts of courage, leadership and selfless service.

The assembly encouraged students to look beyond the historical significance of the day and reflect on the values it represents, including courage, patriotism, perseverance, responsibility and service before self. The thoughtful presentations created a strong sense of gratitude and pride for the brave men and women who continue to safeguard our country.

The learning was further reinforced during the House Meeting, where students explored the significance of Kargil Vijay Diwas in greater detail. Through age appropriate conversations and reflections, they were encouraged to understand the importance of remembering those who serve the nation and to recognise that patriotism is expressed not only through words, but also through responsible actions, respect for others and contributing positively to the community.

The commemoration served as a meaningful reminder of the sacrifices behind our freedom and the responsibility each generation carries to uphold the values of unity, courage and service.
