Celebrating the joy of books, characters and storytelling

The Literary Day celebrated on 15th September at Shiv Nadar School Faridabad gave students of Grades 3–5 a joyful opportunity to explore their love for books, characters, language and storytelling.

Through Tales You Can't Miss, students introduced and recommended books they had read and enjoyed, sharing their favourite stories and explaining why they would encourage others to read them.

Grade 3 students brought language to life through Dress Up as an Idiom, creatively representing idioms through costumes and expressive presentations.

Students of Grades 4 and 5 took part in Meet My Favourite Character, dressing up as characters from books they loved or felt inspired by, and introducing them through brief, engaging presentations.

The activities encouraged students to express their ideas confidently, strengthen their communication and vocabulary, and appreciate the imagination and life lessons found in literature.

At Shiv Nadar School Faridabad, we believe that a love for reading opens doors to curiosity, empathy and lifelong learning. Celebrations like Literary Day are part of our continued effort to nurture a vibrant reading culture, where books are shared, stories are discussed, and every child is encouraged to find joy between the pages.

The celebration was a wonderful reminder that reading is not only about discovering stories, but also about connecting with characters, sharing ideas and bringing the magic of books to life.
